omraam mikhael aivanhov, neville, maurice nicoll

I read the name Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov on page 22, Issue 30 of WATKINS BODY MIND SPIRIT magazine, and his writings, and what was written about him, made me want to buy his book, A Living Book: Autobiographical Reflections 1 By OMRAAM MIKHAEL AIVANHOV, translated and reviewed by Alison Holmes. Her review can make your soul sing; I can only imagine the joy felt in reading the book of this great Bulgarian born Master. In his lifetime he experienced great hardship, and was grateful for all his experiences; he used them as tools for transformation. I’m itching to quote a passage from the magazine review so that you can have an idea of the kind of man and Master he was. Though choosing from that one page isn’t easy because there’s so much said about him in every line of the review. Okay, here is one: “I know your difficulties; I’ve experienced them. I have been hungry, I have been cold, I have been ill, I had no money, nowhere to stay, been unable to wash myself, been badly dressed, I have had to wait for hours in the corridors of power, I have been continually under the threat of deportation, I have had my name dragged through the mud, have been the target of plots against me, and have been thrown into prison.” And this from Alison Holmes: “His account of some of the trials and tribulations of a great Master are of value to us, because his simple way of expressing how he dealt with them all infuses us with inspiration and gratitude that we have been shown how to deal with our own.”   www.watkinsbooks.com

Some time ago I started reading Neville’s books and what he had to say about his life’s journey. I clicked on to the website www.nevillegoddard.wwwhubs.com and read more about his teachings and books. He was born in Barbados in 1905, and traveled to the United States at age 17 to study drama. He lived an extraordinary life, certain people showed up at certain times in his life as if by divine guidance, and because he followed through on the crux of his teachings and writings, “Imagination creates reality,” he made himself into a remarkable man.

20120729-132735.jpg The above-mentioned website quotes Neville as saying that if he was stranded on a desert island and allowed one book, he would choose The Bible.

Why The Bible? This is what he said: “. . . This changeless principle of expression is dramatized in all the Bibles of the world. The writers of our sacred books were illumined mystics, past masters in the art of psychology. In telling the story of the soul they personified this impersonal principle in the form of a historical document both to preserve it and to hide it from the eyes of the uninitiated. . . .” Neville is not the only spiritual teacher who has expressed these exact sentiments. And he said if he could squeeze in more books, they would be Charles Fillmore’s Metaphysical Dictionary of Bible Names, William Blake, and Nicoll’s Commentaries.

Have you heard of Maurice Nicoll? I haven’t, so I googled his name and was treated to a wonderful short story about his fascinating life. www.hurleydonson.com/nicoll.htm says he was born in Kelso, Scotland in 1884. If you’re looking for a break from the day’s activities, a break that will perhaps cause a slight shift in your thoughts, read, “Maurice Nicoll: Spiritual Giant, Gentle Genius.”

20120729-174739.jpg I copied this from the website: “Maurice Nicoll also had a lighthearted, playful side to his nature. In college his friends were those whose sense of humor and frivolity provided what he would need all of his life. Joy and love of life were among his gifts as well. Indeed, a quotation from Plato, “Serious things can only be understood through laughable things,” was hung in a prominent place in all the homes in which he lived.”

So, why spend time studying the teachings and lives of the above-mentioned people? Because they were willing to do whatever it took to bring themselves to a higher level of consciousness, and didn’t allow themselves to get sidetracked. They knew life holds more than we can ever imagine, and they guided others to do the same.

anita moorjani

A few months ago I subscribed to Anita Moorjani’s website so that I could “be informed on upcoming events, new insights and understandings” The first email came this weekend, and should anyone want to connect with her, and other “like-minded people,” on Facebook for a chance to ask questions and/or read about questions asked about her book DYING TO BE ME, this is a good opportunity.

I read DYING TO BE ME once and today reached for it again, because a book having this kind of information needs more than one reading. I began reading page 113 since I had turned down a corner of that page, and it said that one of the messages given to her by her father, and her friend in the other realm was the strongest and the one that keeps repeating within her; it’s this: “Go back and live your life fearlessly!”

Many spiritual teachers tell us to let go of all the fears we’ve been collecting, and now we’re hearing it from “the other realm.”

The reason I’m writing about Anita Moorjani again is that what she has to say can change the way we think about life and death. And that can be a good thing, right?

“just label it”

The name of the website www.justlabelit.org and the following important message says it all. I copied it from an email I received after subscribing to the website. After reading it, if you want, click on to the website and add your name to the list.

“Help us find 5,000 new people to contact the FDA in the next 5 days!

Tell your friends and family why you support the labeling of genetically engineered foods with just a few clicks!

We have a right to know how the food we buy is produced. Yet the FDA’s current policy does not provide us with the ability to make informed choices about genetically engineered foods because they are not labeled.

Over forty countries – including Russia and China – require the labeling of genetically engineered foods. We have the power to fix this here in the United States, and there’s never been a more pressing time.

The FDA is on the brink of approving genetically engineered salmon, which would be the first genetically engineered animal on supermarket shelves in the United States. The salmon is engineered to produce growth hormones year-round that cause the fish to grow at twice the normal rate. The government already requires labels to tell us if fish is wild-caught or farm-raised – don’t we also have a right to know if our salmon is genetically engineered? But without labels, we’ll never know.

You stood with more than one million Americans for our right to know by contacting the FDA demanding that genetically engineered foods be labeled. But there are so many others who haven’t heard anything about the reasons to label genetically engineered foods.

Will you tell your friends, family, and colleagues why genetically engineered foods should be labeled and ask them to join you in contacting the FDA? Click here to send them a message!

You’re not alone in your support of this issue. Not only have more than a million people already contacted the FDA, but studies show that 91% of Americans support mandatory labeling of genetically engineered foods.

We need to let the FDA know how much public support there is for this issue. It’s our job to show them how many of us care about labeling genetically engineered foods. That’s why it’s so important to tell friends and family about this issue and the need for labeling. Can we count on you to spread the word?

Please, send a message to your family and friends with just a few clicks and help us meet our goal of 5,000 new people in the next 5 days.

Thank you for spreading the word today.”

Just Label It

philadelphia at south street between 10th and 22nd streets

Have you been to Philly? If not, come. A lot of changes have and are taking place. In the four years I’ve been here there are new restaurants, shops, the Barnes Museum Foundation is now in Philadelphia on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, more people are moving here, and though it’s a city, it’s small and not overwhelming. Travelers say that they actually enjoy flying into the Philly airport whether to visit, or to transfer to another flight, because it’s easy to get around. I agree; it has the easiness of being able to get one’s bearings which is not always the case at airports, and yet it’s well-organized.

With all that’s developing there’s a good feeling in the air. When I first moved to Philly, South Street between 10th and 23rd Streets was in the throes of, well, I don’t quite know of what. Truthfully, except for a few stores, it was uninspiring. Not anymore; it’s alive now. Here we can find an array of restaurants preparing delicious ethnic foods, and plenty of small speciality shops. People who are moving into this area and opening shops are excited about being a part of the neighborhood. When walking along and passing restaurants, I hear a whole lot of laughter.

What I’m saying is that when you’ve been to all the tourist sites don’t stop there cause you ain’t seen nothing yet. Uh-oh, maybe I shouldn’t write that. Well, I did. Philly is small, walk over to South Street and meander over to 10th Street where Whole Foods can be your landmark, then head west. I’m only going to name a few places, as you’ll easily discover the rest. Remember, Philly is the city of Brotherly Love so don’t hesitate to ask to be pointed in the right direction.

The Philly Magic Gardens at 1020 South Street will be waiting for you. If you have flowers and plants in mind, instead think mosaic. There are events, tours, workshops with Isaiah Zagar, celebration of special occasions, and more, more. Check it out: 215-733-0390 – www.phillymagicgardens.org

20130505-182256.jpg

Next let’s go to Harry’s Occult Shop at 1238 South Street. Harry’s Occult Shop was started by Harry Seligman a pharmacist in 1917. He was a registered pharmacist and the business started as a pharmacy, most of his clients were people who had just arrived from the south and would ask him for occult powders and oils. His interest was aroused and he began researching the occult (Occult means hidden, unseen, unheard). Occult products are used to create positive energies to help bring about changes according to the intention. The upstairs rooms are used for treatments and readings. Harry’s Occult Shop: 215-735-8262 – www.harrysoccultshop.net

You were hungry and perhaps stopped at a restaurant. if not, you’re hungry now. Don’t be concerned as there are a lot of restaurants along the way to 22nd Street. First though I’d like to tell you about Mushmina at 1540 South Street, or because they can do it so much better than I can – you’ll feel their passion – I’ll let the first paragraph of their website do the telling:

“The story started with two sisters who wanted to make a difference in the developing world. One joined Peace Corps Morocco to help rural women develop business skills and the other traveled to Mali to research traditional weaving and metal-smithing techniques. Six years later, Mushmina was born. Our name Mushmina, is an endearing nickname that to us means ‘little sister’.

“Artisans we love
In Morocco we work with over 9 different regional artisan groups, employing over 75 artisans, both men and women. While we are a cottage industry business (where many women work in their homes) the Mushmina Workshop and atelier is coming soon!”

Katie O’Neill is one of the sisters, and you’ll find her at the Mushmina shop. Her face nicely expresses that she loves what she does, and is well-able to talk about any item in the store, and tell its story. I was there and I’ll be back to buy a birthday gift. Pictures also tell a story, and the website can show you the beautiful selection of bags, scarves, clothes, jewelry, shoes, slippers, etc., and of the interesting ways the sisters are growing their business. It wasn’t easy choosing only three shops to write about. From here I hope you continue onward, and, if you’re so inclined, send a comment about an interesting shop you happened upon, or a restaurant, yoga place, bar, cafe, a great story you heard on South Street, etc. What caught your attention?

It looks like a lovely summer day. Let’s thoroughly enjoy.

philip coppens, watkins books, dolores cannon, guy needler

I’m always curious to read what’s written about Ancient Aliens and their connection to us. What’s exciting now is that reliable, well-informed people are dedicated to unraveling the truth about this subject. There was a time when only a few were privy to discoveries, or if they were revealed further information was not forthcoming, or it was misleading. However, In recent years those who are dedicated to the cause of revealing the truth of all that’s been discovered are in a tug-of-war; they appear to be making some headway, although the process is painfully slow. Are you with me? Am I making sense of all this?

Philip Coppens “is an author and investigative journalist, ranging from the world of politics to ancient history and mystery,” and in Watkins Books, Issue 30, BODY MIND SPIRIT is an article he wrote, We Were Not Alone The Ancient Alien Question, and in it he gives a preview of how things are progressing in the search for knowledge pertaining to this immensely interesting subject. We’re brought up-to-date on the opinions of a few archaeologists, and he also says that: “Many of the leading archaeologists are also often embarrassingly unaware of the latest archaeological findings their colleagues make.”
www.watkinsbooks.com

A few things mentioned in the article are:
Erich von Daniken in his book, Chariots of the Gods, pondered whether the Nazca Lines in the desert sands of Peru could “be an ancient airport.”
“There are the quaint descriptions in the Bible” – e.g., “What to make of Genesis 6?”
“What has astronomy discovered?”
“British astrophysicists Sir Fred Hoyle and Chandra Wickramasinghe have even shown that a number of viruses – including the common flu virus – come from outer space, arriving on our planet riding on passing comets whose dust settles in our upper atmosphere.”
“Francis Crick, the co-discoverer of the structure of DNA, in the 1970s, he argued that DNA was too complex and intricate to have been accidentally created in primordial ooze on Planet Earth. Half a century on he is being proven correct.”
new archaeological discoveries
and more

His new book is THE ANCIENT ALIEN QUESTION: A New Inquiry into the Existence, Evidence, and the Influence of Ancient Visitors, and judging from the article from which the above was taken, and from the vast amount of information on his website, the book should give readers more insight into a subject that has piqued the curiosity of many, and who are hoping that soon an answer to the following question is forthcoming: Did Ancient Aliens visit Planet Earth? Then we can go on from there and answer all the other questions – maybe. It seems a complicated situation what with scientists, archaeologists, those in “denial,” and those feeling there’s plenty of evidence all having a say. However, it’s been said that persistence pays off.

Dolores Cannon is a writer, past-life regressionist, teacher, international speaker, and pioneering hypnotherapist “who specializes in the recovery and cataloging of ‘lost knowledge,’ ” and it doesn’t stop there. I’d say that she’s surely her own person. Have you clicked on to her website recently? I just listened to Lilou Mace interviewing her, and in the video she uses the phrase “mind bending.” It was that for the most part for me. She talked about the new earth and the old earth, the reasons many people are changing their diet, forgiveness, fear, love, water, manipulating energy, upgrading ourselves, ending the cycle of karma, back-drop people, strange and unusual concepts, and more. It’s very good for the brain to hear new things, often we experience a shift, and that’s exciting.

Philip Coppens and Dolores Cannon are both devoted to and have strong feelings for what they do, and in hearing and reading about their views – whether we understand or not, believe or not – we can’t look at this vast universe in quite the same way as we once did.

Emi and her camera

Daughter Emi’s photos tell a story. She has an eye that captures the essence of a person and place. Most times Emi has her camera with her, and should that not be the case, the phone’s camera and Emi’s eye will more than suffice, because, you see, love and passion take extraordinary pictures. It’s been this way since she was very young. The following are from my iPad and phone, and I wish I had some of her other photos, but, alas, I don’t.

20120702-194840.jpg
When the above photo was taken by Emi at Ocean Grove, NJ it was an unusually chilly June day, still, if I look at it long enough I feel my feet sinking into the sand as I wonder what’s across that vast ocean, then I see people are jumping into the waves, and lots of people are sitting on the sand perhaps dreaming, others are pointing to designs made by the clouds, sunbathers are making sandcastles and children are laughing as a friend is turned into a sand mermaid, someone is kayaking, families are collecting seashells, couples are riding the waves hand-in-hand. Now people are leaving. Lucky me I stayed and watched magnificent dolphins playing. The sun is setting now and I’m saying goodbye to a gorgeous day. Ah, yes, such is the magic of a photo.

20120703-151903.jpg
We were walking south in the 30s in Manhattan and It was a wonderfully light night, and Emi couldn’t resist capturing the sliver of the moon in its wondrous simplicity, lights were peeking through a few windows from very dark buildings. There’s a flicker of gold against the beautiful sky, to the right a tree is seen; it wants to be included also. This scene projects a sense of majesty at this moment on this night.

20120703-153408.jpg
Emi is taking a last look at Philadelphia last Saturday as she leaves for Manhattan. The day was HOT! and it was HUMID! No matter, it looks serene. Nature is helping the people on the grass to relax – an abundance of trees, a soft blue sky, a bit of water will do that. The buildings are standing at attention, as if enjoying the scene, and appreciating the tranquility of a HOT and HUMID Saturday, compared to the busyness of a HOT AND HUMID Monday. All is well.

20120703-154644.jpg
This is a casual scene in Rittenhouse Square Park in Philadelphia on Mother’s Day 2012. There’s a sign in the center where two people are sitting; it says: “free advice.” We laughed. It’s a neat idea, basically the sign tells nothing. So, someone sits facing the advisor, and then what? I like that. I wonder how much one pays for this “free advice.” the day is lovely, as is the art show surrounding the park. There’s a sweet expression on the face of the man in the orange shirt. Hey, why not, it’s Mother’s Day and he’s alive in this fascinating and mysterious world.

20120703-230614.jpg
You might say there’s nothing special about the above photo. (lol, the above photo is gone! I’ll get it back. So, the first sentence of this paragraph is perfect.) And I’ll say, ahh, but . . . Emi took this picture a month ago as she was passing Paracelso because she knows it’s one of my favorite Manhattan shops. And that’s the reason I’d like to include it along with the other photos. Paracelso is not a run-of-the-mill shop; it’s very special to many people for quite a few reasons, as is the owner Luxor Tavella. Talk about staying power in the heart of SoHo where shops have come and gone through the years. Should you visit, don’t be put off by the face paint Luxor wears; she has her reasons. The following website will tell you a little about Luxor and Paracelso – www.stylelikeu.com/closets/luxor-tavella
Thank you, Emi.

Tomorrow is the 4th of July, what will you be doing?

Oops! Emi texted that the park photo is of Central Park, and that it was sent by mistake via phone as she was leaving Philly. Well, a park in a big city with people relaxing is still a park in a big city with people relaxing no matter where it was taken, right? – Although, I admit I should have known:-(

lainie and miro liberti

It’s raining, it’s pouring . . . and It’s 10:00pm and I was just reading an article by Cathy Brown at www.escapeartist.com about a mother and her 13 year old son who have been traveling for three years and have no intention of stopping. You can enjoy a wonderful article at www.raisingmiro.com . Yes, indeed, how vastly different life would be for many of us if we would just let go of our fears and . . . “Trust, trust, trust.” Imagine that! That’s exactly what Lainie and Miro do.

That would be a delightful dream tonight – living without fearing. . . .

Sweet dreams.

Is there anyone who doesn’t want radiant health with lots of energy? Do you think this is a silly question? I don’t because a lot of the food we eat is chosen carelessly, and often it’s devoid of nutrition, loaded with toxins, dissipates our energy, and can make us feel and look not quite right. So, taking time to learn about the non-foods that find a way into our bodies helps speed us along on the path to health. Change can be difficult, it’s true; it can also be rewarding. Change tends to be especially difficult when we don’t have a clear understanding of the why and the how-to of it, and exciting when finally we do.

If you haven’t already clicked on to the following, there’s a very good chance you’ll be delighted when you do. Dr. Alejandro Junger www.thecleanprogram.com sent out an eletter about a documentary film by filmmakers James and Laurentine. I think you’ll really like and appreciate it and the website www.hungryforchange.tv

And . . . in his book CLEAN he mentioned Dr. Schulze’s website www.herbdoc.com We can access many interesting healing stories from people who say they’re forever grateful to Dr. Schulze for giving them their health back. His website also is packed with possibilities that can lead us to change (not overwhelming though; I don’t do overwhelming). And . . . Dr. Schulze on his website mentioned the following www.naturalnews.com
– also too good to pass over.

We’ve not a thing to lose in checking out these websites, and a whole lot to gain. All we have to do is read, learn, appreciate what they offer, and be happy they’re available. I’m familiar and delighted with all of them and trust you’ll be too.

marcel messing

Right now Lilou Mace is on a world tour interviewing people who are very much worth listening to. They’re people who have the ability to bring to us an understanding about the things that are now taking place on Planet Earth. Many of us haven’t quite noticed what’s happening to the place we call home. We tend to make ourselves extremely busy, if not with work then with keeping ourselves entertained, and we’ve gotten used to the pain and suffering that exists right alongside of us, and we’ve also gotten used to hearing about abnormal catastrophes taking place worldwide. And we don’t ask what’s going on. The dedicated ones who have studied the causes that have led to our current conditions are trying to wake us up.

Lilou Mace of www.juicylivingtour.com has been reaching out to these people who are able to give us an understanding of ourselves and Planet Earth. They’re people whose hearts are in the right place, and who love humanity, love Planet Earth, and are dedicating themselves to, well, the only words that come to mind are, creating a far better world.

So, exactly how can we help the world’s situation? For a start, perhaps listening to the well-informed Marcel Messing – listening attentively to what he’s saying as Lilou Mace interviews him (not before going to bed though as there’s a possibility of being awake all night and that wouldn’t serve you well). The video is powerful and it goes deep.

The juicylivingtour website offers us a chance to learn in an easy setting. Some of the people interviewed are well-known, others not. Whichever video you choose, I think it will have you very happyily watching and listening. They’re never dull. So, sit back, relax and enjoy.

There are different viewpoints as to what the future holds for us and Planet Earth. There’s agreement on a few things though: 1) that we do our part in making this world a far better place than it is now by respecting Planet Earth and not allowing it to be destroyed, and, 2) that we do our part in alleviating pain and suffering – the enormous misery – many, many people are enduring. The world doesn’t belong to anyone: therefore, it’s up to all of us to pull ourselves together so that we can make this a far better world for everyone, and at the same time, protect the place that offers all of us an abundance of beauty and sustenance.

Let’s keep these words close to us: love, harmony, beauty, serenity, consciousness, and peace, and let’s never forget who we are.

*********************
“But as we rise to higher levels of consciousness – as we attain higher viewpoints of life – then the very laws of nature tend to change also. The electrical phenomena of life change! The energies of life are different. The limitations become fewer. The very ‘facts of life’ change as we rise in consciousness! This is why ‘miracles’ are possible. They are not violations of cosmic law. They are manifestations of higher laws, which become available to higher levels of consciousness.”
– THE ADVENT OF THE HIGHER VIEWPOINT by Bryant Reeve

“A man’s consciousness is all that he thinks and desires and loves, all that he believes is true and consents to. That is why a change of consciousness is necessary before you can change your outer world.” – Neville

“Peace is a strong vibratory force, and not an inactive passive state of mind which many people associate with it. It is teeming with life and power, and recharges one quickly.”
– Frances Wilshire

a retreat, a salon, a bookshop, a book

20120603-002633.jpg

Sometimes you simply know deep in your bones that being somewhere can only leave a lasting impression on your whole being, if only you can get to that place. That’s how I felt as I listened carefully to philosopher/writer Tim Freke being interviewed by Lilou Mace as they sat on a bench in front of Abbey House on a site with “ancient roots” in Glastonbury UK. Being part of a retreat there with Tim Freke, along with other “explorers,” has to be an incredible experience. His website gives a glimpse of his life’s work. And after reading about the books he’s written and comments from readers, methinks anyone ready for a first-time reading and a retreat in Glastonbury is in for a wonderful wild ride – a WOW! of a ride.
www.mysteryexperience.com

I fondly remember a charming neighborhood restaurant located on Irving Place in Manhattan called Sal Anthony’s, and after many years in business it closed. Then Sal Anthony’s 3rd Avenue Movement Salon opened. And so last week when daughter Sumi said, “I made appointments for us at Sal Anthony’s,” I smiled a broad smile. Sumi is always happy doing Pilates, and It’s reflexology for me in the very capable hands of Ann. Feet that daily pound the pavement love reflexology.
Sal Anthony’s is a different kind of salon. This from the website: “We’re not cool Cool is for gyms where people are obsessed with style and hubris. We believe in order to find balance we need to free ourselves from limits of this sort”

With bodies in fine walking order, we sauntered over to Namaste Bookshop at 2 West 14th Street. It seems that once again small book stores are opening and thriving. Hooray! and judging from the number of customers squeezed into this small place, thriving is the right word. I was looking for The Five Tibetans by Christopher Kilham. It’s also known as the Five Rites of Rejuvenation, and is written about at length in the book, Ancient Secret Of The Fountain Of Youth, Book 2, A companion to the book by Peter Kelder. Think of a retired British officer who went on a spectacular journey, Tibetan lamas, a monastery in the Himalayas, a man named Peter Kelder who was told an incredible story wrapped in ancient mystery, and in writing about it gave the world five simple, graceful, and powerful exercises.

Now the book – I said, “Sumi, I doubt the book is here; I think it’s out of print.” She said, “Ask.” I looked at the shelf where it would be if they had it. “Not there,” I said to no one in particular. Again I heard Sumi whisper, “Ask.” So I did. And there it was on a table that I had passed when entering. As I paid for the book, the two people behind the counter happily announced that the writer of The Five Tibetans will be at the bookshop this coming Friday, 8 June. I smiled. Christopher Kilham has been practicing The Five Tibetans for thirty-five years, and ” . . . he has conducted medicinal plant research in more than 30 countries across 5 continents and the South Pacific.” Imagine an evening spent listening to him at Namaste Bookshop. www.namastebookshop.com
